Young Hazardous Materials Professional of the Year Award Criteria

Submission Deadline: April 30

This award is given to an outstanding AHMP Professional or Emerging Professional Member under the age of 35 who, in the award year, has made extraordinary technical, professional, educational, training, and/or administrative contributions to the EHS&S field and to AHMP and/or its chapters while promoting the AHMP Strategic Plan. This award includes a one-year exemption from AHMP dues.

Nominees must meet the following eligibility requirements: 

  • Nominee must be a Professional or Certified member of AHMP in good standing.
  • Nominee must be under 35 years of age during the award year.
  • Submitted documentation must reflect accomplishments and contributions made during the previous calendar year.

Nominees will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Evidence of extraordinary technical, professional, educational, training, and/or administrative contributions to the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) profession.
  • Demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, or impact benefiting AHMP at the national, regional, or chapter level through initiatives, programs, education, mentoring, or administrative support.
  • Clear examples showing how the nominee actively supports, advances, or embodies the goals and priorities outlined in the AHMP Strategic Plan.
  • The nominee’s body of work reflects a level of achievement that is distinguished among peers and contributes meaningfully to the advancement of the profession and the association.
