This session will provide an overview of the challenges for a qualified professional when performing a Legionella evaluation. The differences between a routine sampling and outbreak response investigation will be reviewed, as well as discussions regarding the various types of Legionella bacteria, emergency remediation and susceptible populations. Finally, current guidance for water management in buildings will be presented including both potable and non-potable systems and a case study, if time allows. The goal of this presentation is for the attendee to increase their knowledge of potential sources of Legionella and impact on public health.
