Tour of the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill (FCSL) $35(members)/$45

 

Additional tickets for the Welcome Reception (hors d’oeuvres and cash bar) are $30, if you wish to bring a guest. The reception is included for all Workshop attendees.

Local Tours and Events

Tour of the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill (FCSL)

The tour will consist of a preliminary discussion and slide show at the FCSL Resource Center that will outline the engineering, regulations and monitoring of a modern day sanitary landfill. Visitors will also learn about diversion, beneficial use of closed landfill sites, the difficulty of siting a sanitary landfill and the future outlook for waste disposal in Franklin County. Immediately following the presentation at the FCSL Resource Center visitors will enter the landfill site to view the working face. The experience will offer first-hand knowledge that many will not forget! The tour is typically about 90 minutes in length.

Space is limited to only 14 participants so register early!
