2011 AHMP Student Program

Local college students will network with EHS&S professionals during the National Conference in Austin, Texas during two specified times—Saturday during the AHMP Community Service Project and on Tuesday during the Student Session.

The Community Service Project will allow students to directly interact with EHS&S professionals in a real-life situation where they can learn “on the job” from individuals who are in the field. The Student Session will involve an interactive training session and an afternoon breakout with industry vendors. The program format will feature experienced professionals sharing the good, bad and the ugly of their career progression, an insight in to the career path of professional certifications and membership organizations, how to get a job in the EHS&S industry and the challenges of industry, governments, municipalities, and others with an interest in environmental fields. This interactive forum will give student participants the opportunity to network with a variety of members with diverse careers.
