AHMP Strategic Plan
Introduction
The Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP), formerly Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM) maintains focus on the Vision-Mission-Strategy of the organization by maintaining a three year strategic plan. The original plan was crafted in response to input from the membership, national committees, chapters and previous Board of Directors (BoD). As the premier membership association for professionals working in the field of environmental, health, safety and security management, AHMP is committed to providing maximum benefit to its members.
Goals
The strategic goals are the responsibility of the BoD to develop and maintain. These goals are implemented through BoD support of Standing Committees and Task Groups, and the monitoring and evaluation of progress. The goals are reviewed by the BoD on a continual basis. The AHMP Strategic Goals are:
- Increase the visibility of AHMP and provide value to our membership.
- Strengthen the financial position of the AHMP in order to offer greater benefit to the membership.
- Unify and strengthen the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security industries.
- Continually improve AHMP operations, processes, and structure to support our strategic goals and objectives.
Objectives and Tasks
Associated with each strategic goal are objectives set in support of the strategic goals. Objectives are assigned to Standing Committees and Task Groups. Standing Committees in turn develop tasks working with their Technical Sub-Committees. Tasks are developed to support achievement of the objectives. The AHMP BoD, committees and task groups work together diligently to support achievement of results that will ensure AHMP Strategic Goals are realized.
The entire strategic plan is continually monitored and evaluated at appropriate levels of AHMP so any needed corrections are made expeditiously. The review process ensures that AHMP is moving forward in alignment with the AHMP Vision-Mission-Strategy.
